A Place Built for Life's Later Chapters
Kanya Thong was established in Phuket by a small group of financial educators and community advocates who noticed a consistent gap in the local landscape: most financial learning was aimed at young professionals or newly employed adults. Very little was tailored to people who had already accumulated life experience — and with it, a more complex financial picture.
We opened our doors with the belief that it is never too late to develop a clearer understanding of your finances. Whether you are approaching retirement, supporting adult children, managing property, or simply trying to reduce debt, the right education at the right pace can make a meaningful difference.
Our name, Kanya Thong, draws loosely from the Thai tradition of naming spaces with words that evoke warmth, value, and care. We see our workshops as a kind of sanctuary — a place where adults feel safe to ask questions they perhaps felt embarrassed to raise elsewhere.
Our facilitators have backgrounds in personal finance, cooperative economics, and adult education. Each program is reviewed regularly to ensure relevance to the Thai financial environment, including local property law, banking products, and community finance options.
Our Vision
A Thailand where every adult, regardless of background or prior exposure to finance, has access to thoughtful, unhurried financial education that speaks to their real-life circumstances.
Our Mission
To deliver financial education workshops in Phuket that prioritise clarity over complexity, patience over pressure, and long-term understanding over short-term information overload.
Our Values
- Warmth and respect for every participant
- Honesty about financial realities
- Commitment to practical, applicable knowledge
- Small group sizes for personal attention

Our Standards
How We Maintain Programme Quality
Every aspect of our programmes reflects our commitment to adult learners and their time.
Small Group Limit
No session exceeds 12 participants. This is a firm commitment — not an aspiration. Smaller groups allow genuine dialogue and personal attention.
Annual Curriculum Review
Our materials are reviewed each year against current Thai financial regulations, market conditions, and participant feedback to remain accurate and relevant.
Participant Privacy
Personal financial information shared during sessions remains strictly confidential. Participants are never asked to disclose figures they are not comfortable sharing.
Qualified Facilitators
All facilitators hold relevant professional qualifications in finance or adult education. Continuous professional development is part of our team culture.
Written Course Materials
Every participant receives a printed workbook and reference materials to take home — supporting learning well beyond the session itself.
Post-Session Support
Participants in multi-session programmes receive a follow-up check-in call within four weeks of completion, helping consolidate what was learned.
Our Expertise
Financial Education Rooted in the Thai Context
Phuket's financial landscape has distinctive characteristics — a tourism-driven economy, a significant expatriate community, and local property markets shaped by both Thai law and international demand. Kanya Thong's programmes are built with these realities in mind.
Our Debt-to-Income Workshop draws on benchmark data from Thai banking institutions, helping participants understand how local lenders assess creditworthiness. Our Cooperative Housing Finance programme addresses Thailand-specific legal frameworks around cooperative ownership and community land trust structures — topics that receive very little coverage in standard financial literacy resources.
The Financial Resilience Program takes a broad view of personal financial stability, covering emergency preparedness in the Thai context, appropriate insurance products available locally, and income diversification strategies suited to adults in Phuket's economic environment. The programme's psychological component draws on research into financial stress among adults in mid-life, with exercises adapted to Thai cultural perspectives on money and family obligation.
We are proud to serve both Thai nationals and long-term residents from other countries who have made their home in Phuket. Our English-language delivery means international participants can engage fully, while our deep roots in the local community ensure the content stays grounded in what actually applies here.
